AI consulting in Denver — agentic workflows, MCP tooling, and product strategy

I am Peter McCarthy, a Denver-based AI consultant and technical product lead. I help individuals and teams put AI to work in real, shippable ways — from a single onboarding session through embedded product support on live AI systems.

Engagement levels

Engagements scale to fit what you actually need — there is no single product. Start small with an individual session, or bring me in as embedded product support.

Individual onboarding

One-on-one coaching to help a founder, executive, or operator adopt AI tools in their daily workflow. Tool selection, prompt patterns, and personal automation setups tailored to your role.

Team training & workshops

Hands-on sessions for product, design, and engineering teams. We cover practical agentic workflows, MCP-driven tooling, and how to evaluate quality and safety as you scale AI into the work.

Freelance engineering & strategy

Project-based engagements where I act as your senior AI/product partner. I scope, prototype, and ship agentic systems, MCP servers, and design-to-dev pipelines end-to-end.

Ongoing product support

Embedded fractional support for teams running AI in production. Roadmap reviews, integration architecture, governance, and continuous improvement on live AI products.

Services

The specific technical work I deliver inside any engagement.

Agentic AI workflows

Multi-step agent systems built with frameworks like Goose, Claude, and OpenAI. I design the orchestration, evaluation, and human-in-the-loop checkpoints so the work actually ships.

MCP tooling & integration

Custom Model Context Protocol servers and clients that connect AI models to your real data and tools — Jira, Wrike, Figma, internal APIs, and beyond.

Design-to-development automation

Pipelines that move Figma designs into production code with staged agents, unit tests, and visual QA. Faster handoffs, fewer drift bugs, real velocity gains.

AI accessibility & GEO audits

Automated WCAG 2.1/2.2 scans with remediation guidance, plus GEO (Generative Engine Optimization) audits so your site is discoverable inside AI search and answer engines.

Rapid prototyping

Working AI-powered prototypes in days, not quarters. I use them to de-risk product bets, align stakeholders, and turn vague AI ambitions into something you can test with real users.

Who I work with

Founders, product and design leaders, engineering teams, and operators across Denver, the Front Range, and remotely across North America. I work with everyone from solo operators learning how to integrate AI into their day, to enterprise product teams shipping AI features into regulated environments.

Frequently asked questions

What does an AI consultant in Denver do?

An AI consultant helps individuals and teams adopt artificial intelligence effectively. My work in Denver spans hands-on onboarding for individuals, team training on agentic workflows and MCP tooling, freelance engineering of AI systems, and ongoing product support for teams running AI in production.

Who do you work with?

Founders, product and design leaders, engineering teams, and operators at startups, agencies, and enterprises. Engagements range from a single session of personal AI onboarding to embedded multi-month product support.

What is MCP and why does it matter?

MCP stands for Model Context Protocol. It is an open standard that lets AI models connect to tools, data sources, and services in a consistent, secure way. MCP turns isolated chat sessions into agents that can actually do work inside your systems — read tickets, update designs, run audits, and more.

Do you work remotely or only in person in Denver?

Both. I am based in Denver, Colorado and work in person with local teams across the Front Range, and remotely with clients anywhere in North America.

How quickly can we get started?

Individual onboarding sessions can usually start within a week. Team workshops and freelance engineering engagements typically begin within two to four weeks depending on scope.

What does an engagement look like?

Most engagements start with a short discovery conversation to clarify outcomes, then a tailored proposal. Individual onboarding is typically a few focused sessions. Team workshops are scoped per topic. Freelance and product-support work runs on weekly milestones with clear deliverables.

How much does AI consulting cost?

Pricing depends on scope. Individual onboarding is sold as fixed-price sessions or short packages. Team workshops are quoted per workshop. Freelance engineering and ongoing product support are scoped per project or as monthly retainers. Reach out for a tailored estimate.

What tools and frameworks do you use?

I work day-to-day with the Goose agentic framework, the Model Context Protocol, Claude and other frontier models, Next.js, Figma, Jira and Wrike. Tool choice is driven by what fits the engagement — never the other way around.

Can you help with AI accessibility and compliance?

Yes. I build automated WCAG 2.1 and 2.2 accessibility audits with AA and AAA scoring, and ship remediation guidance teams can act on. The same approach extends to AI-output review and governance for regulated environments.

What is GEO and how is it different from SEO?

GEO stands for Generative Engine Optimization. It is the practice of making your site easy to discover, parse, and cite inside AI answer engines like Google AI Overviews, ChatGPT, Perplexity, and Claude. GEO complements traditional SEO by adding structured data, llms.txt manifests, and content patterns that AI systems can quote.
